The book '2018 - China goes Critical' by Barnaby Powell and Alex Mackinnon focuses on how successive waves of foreign intervention have shaped modern China, from Sun Yat-Sen's revolution to the Bo Xilai affair, and considers the scale of challenges facing the new leadership as it enters a critical phase of transition. In this lecture, Barnaby Powell will talk about the issues raised in the book, after which the floor will be opened for questions and discussions.
