Contemporary Chinese Art

To correspond with the exhibition "Portrait of the Times - 30 Years of Chinese Contemporary Art" at the Power Station of Art, Julie Chun (MA, Art History) will be giving a talk that seeks to enlarge your scope of understanding the objects on display. This survey will introduce the key artists who have shaped the world of Chinese contemporary art in the years following the Cultural Revolution. Pivotal political and social events will be used as a framework for introducing works of art to gain a deeper insight into Chinese history through its visual culture.
