Demystifying Chinese Medicine: A Modern View of an Ancient Medical Science

Chinese Medicine (CM) is couched in ancient language and world-view and to the modern observer easily appears to be metaphysics. But what were the ancient Chinese really talking about? What is “qi”? What are the acupuncture “meridians”? Is CM metaphysical “energy” medicine, or real anatomy and physiology? You will likely be pleasantly surprised Dr. Livingston’s rather unconventional answers to these questions. Dr. Livingston will also discuss what types of conditions can be treated with CM, and give practical advice on staying healthy during the Shanghai winter and spring.

• Ancient language and world-view ~40 minutes

       What is qi?
