With the advent of the New Year, we continue our series “Insights into Chinese Contemporary Art” to understand the phenomenon behind the hype and the mystic surrounding the state of current art in China.
This month, a special private event has been scheduled just for RAS at OCT Art Terminal. We will explore the current exhibition “Degeneration” which highlights the practices and production of ten artists born 1980 and thereafter. They are the arbiters of works of art that is defining China today.  Let’s see and hear what they have to say about their “undefined generation.”
OCT is the acronym for Overseas Chinese Town that originated in Shenzhen to foster the practice and research of contemporary art in China and abroad.  Expanded to several locations, the not-for-profit museum opened in Shanghai in 2012 with Yang Fudong solo show “Quote Out of Context.”
