Exploring the Yuz Museum

The culture of museum building in China has reached unprecedented heights in the last decade. Over the coming months, Julie Chun (MA, Art History) will lead a guided talk at each of the new art museums in Shanghai to explore the collection (or the lack thereof), curatorial practices, and the quotidian business of museum operations in China. We begin this month with the Yuz Museum, which was established by the Chinese-Indonesian collector and business tycoon Budi Tek. Featuring large-scale works by some of the most prominent contemporary artists worldwide, Julie will provide a walkthrough and discuss the inaugural exhibition “Myth/History.”
Cost: 50 RMB (discount group entry ticket to the museum)
