RAS is offering a new focus group. We are calling it the Ad Hoc Study Group since we will view films on a variety of topics. We will meet once a month on the 3rd Wednesday. The time will be 7:00 at the Melange Oasis where we hold the history group. In the past, many of us have arrived early at the restaurant to eat, drink and socialise.
To kick off our Ad Hoc group, we are privileged to have Sylvie Levey, French journalist, film maker, and Sinologist, to introduce her film "Shanghai Waiting for Paradise". The 92-minute documentary, filmed over a five-year period, portrays the lives of a three generational family living under one roof as they await the demolition of their home before Expo 2010.
